Since 1620, the people of this nation have been engaged in a crusade for better living. History has recorded the experiences of their undertaking. There is no element of surprise in that statement. It is a commonplace. Less well known, but no less true, is the fact that much of the nation's history is reflected in glass. Most items have been made to directly honor some person or place; or commemorate some specific event. Others are indirectly associated with some event or phase of United States history. All are worthy collectibles. In compiling this book, historical subjects commemorated in glassware, only, are presented. Glassware in the author's possession, only, is used. -- Foreword.
