Medical Books for the Layperson
註釋"Many books have been published in recent years to meet the increasing demand by the general public for medical information. This bibliography will help people find books on the topic in which they are interested-- a particular illness, the quality of the health system, or how to stay healthy. On subjects which can be considered from both a medical and sociological veiwpoint, such as mental retardation, alcoholism, and birth control, only those books with a medical emphasis are included in this list. The book were selected from the collection of the Boston Public Library and are in-print titles published from 1969 through mid-1975. A recent publication of note which has appeared since the compilation of this list is Doctor: What You Should Know About Health Care Before You Call a Physician by Dr. G. Timothy Johnson who, in conjunction with the issuance of this bibliography, delivered a lecture " Update on Health" at the Boston Public Library in September 1976." –Publisher.
