The collection was for an intended history of the Ecclesiological Society (previously the Cambridge Camden Society or the Camden Society and subsequently the St. Paul's Ecclesiological Society) and of other British societies concerned with architectural history, archaeology, ecclesiology, church restoration and civic amenities.
