The purpose of the study was to better understand our MU Black male student-athletes, their aspirations, and how their life stories impact how they see themselves and their experiences on campus. Our research questions were as follows: 1) How do Black male student-athletes at MU Athletics form identities and define success? 2) How do the life histories of Black male student-athletes at MU contribute to their identities, decisions, and leadership while at MU?
