Corrosion Studies Pertinent to Bromine Trifluoride Processes
註釋The corrosion rates of certain metals and alloys have been determined in several solutions typical of bromine trifluoride processes. Nickel, Monel, and K. Monel showed excellent corrosion resistance in the following solutions at 125 degrees C: bromine trifluoride, ten mole percent bromine in bromine trifluoride, and ten mole percent uranium hexafluoride in bromine trifluoride. Inconel and Duranickel also proved satisfactory. Stainless steel, mild steel, magnesium and aluminum are suitable for less critical applications. Nicloy-9 was totally unsatisfactory.
