註釋Yabuki Jō is an orphan who scrapes a living day to day, by illegal means. One day, Tange Danpei, a former boxer and coach, finds out he has talent as a boxer and recommends him to be a boxer. However, Yabuki is arrested on charges of fighting and fraud. At the detention home, he meets Rikiishi Tōru, a professional boxer who later becomes his rival. Determined to beat Rikiishi, Yabuki begins to follow advice from Tange. However, Rikiishi is released and Yabuki has to wait for a rematch till he himself is released and matched against him in the professional ring.
