註釋"Based on a need for a hysteresis-free and theoretically predictable hygrometer, the studies reported in this paper are concerned with the development of a liquid phase absorption hygrometer. This instrument, which senses the partial pressure of water vapor of a sample gas flow, utilizes the heterogeneous mixture of a hygroscopic liquid coated on the surface of an inert granular solid as the dielectric of a capacitor. A theoretical analysis of the response of this instrument based on Raeult's law and the Clausius-Mosotti equation is made and an experimental demonstration of of the applicability of this theory is presented. Other parts of the theoretical treatment include an analysis of the time response, the temperature dependence and the effects of changes in dielectric composition. Essential agreement with the theory has been found in all experimental work. Technical details used in fabricating three prototype and two field portable instruments are given. The results of one field experiment are given to demonstrate the utility of the liquid film hygrometer"--Abstract.
