Make an effort to get to know people. Identify places in your community and events where you can meet new people. Take the initiative to introduce yourself. Make sure you engage in behaviors that allow you to leave a very good impression.Making such connections though is just the starting point. You have to put time and effort into relationships. That is the only way they are going to grow and to withstand the test of time. It isn't practical to think you can reach out to everyone all the time, but do stay in contact with friends, family, and those you love. Don't reach out only when you need something from them or the relationship isn't going to be able to continue.Business relationships are also important for success and personal growth. It is important to surround yourself with those who share similar interests and similar goals in regards to your career. This can motivate you, challenge you, and give you a way to continue to move forward. It also provides you with an opportunity to share knowledge with others. Don't underestimate the value of the connections we have in life. They should make us feel good about ourselves, allow us to feel loved and comforted, and give us special people to share our special events with. Nothing else in our lives can compare to the human connections so strive to make them genuine and long lasting.
