A Tiger in the Kitchen Healthy Chinese Cooking Made Easy 陳宣家簡易健康中餐食譜 Chen/Hsuan Family Recipes by LinLin Hsuan 宣玲玲
As George Bernard Shaw said in "Personality Psychology":“We live in a world of our own meaning. Out of our experience what we see and remember depends on how we interpret things, not on what really happened. We store meaning, not reality.” This book is an interpretation of my life journey, as illustrated with this simple collection of some of Chen and Hsuan family recipes. As Charles Dickens said in "Tale of Two Cities":“It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.”I was born during the Sino-Japan War, grew up during the Civil War and came to U. S. to achieve my America dream. This book is a reflection of my life journey from the worst war times in China to the best of prosperity time in American over the last seven decades. As Steve Jobs, the former CEO of Apple Computer, said at his Stanford commencement speech that he had found his lifework in the work that he loved. To me, the healthy Chinese cooking has been my passion and love. As I learned from my life long journey in the kitchen raising the three adorable boys: the devil is in the details.LinLin Hsuan Honolulu, Hawaii宣玲玲 January, 2012
