This note will focus on the key policy areas outlined in the Joint communication of the European Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy A new Agenda for the Mediterranean on 09 February 2021. These policy areas include human development and the rule of law, peace and security, migration, and the green transition1. According to the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), adopted by the Council on 17 December 2020, EU expenditures for 2021-2027 will cover the following areas2: 1. Single Market, Innovation, and Digital; 2. Cohesion, Resilience, and Values; 3. Natural Resources and Environment; 4. Migration and Border Management; 5. Security and Defence; 6. Neighbourhood and the World; 7. European Public Administration.
