Author Stefan Kostka covers music from the early 1900s through movements such as minimalism and the new tonality of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. In this updated edition, he supports the discussions with well over 100 examples from music literature, many of them new to this edition. Most of the examples are currently available on recordings.
