Netherlands and the Rise of Modern Imperialism
註釋By comparing the Dutch case with that of Britain, Belgium and Portugal, this study examines the extent to which Dutch imperialism fitted the general pattern of European imperialism in the 19th century. After a theoretical introduction which aims to clarify terms and assess the causes of imperialism, the volume proceeds to analyze the developments of Dutch foreign expansion in the East Indies and South Africa, setting this in the wider context of international relations in the period.
