Verses, Versions and Diversions
註釋Nicholas Aldridge (1940-2011) was fascinated by poetry all his life and produced hundreds of poems spanning more than sixty-five years. He spoke of poetry as making an impression, good or bad, inspiring and setting the imagination going; and he added that the 'vital part' of poetry is its ability to inspire us with a sudden feeling of joy or misery. His own poetry achieved this brilliantly. Lyrical, descriptive, narrative and dramatic poems in a remarkable variety of metrical forms are included in this entertaining selection of verses, versions and diversions.
