註釋What tactics were used by the American forces during the Mexican War? Which factors influenced the U.S. Army to use these tactics; and why were they so successful against the Mexican army? This study attempts to clarify these questions by focusing on the Mexico City Campaign, carried out by General Winfield Scott's Army of Invasion of Mexico between March 9 and September 14, 1847. This campaign led Scott's forces to the heart of the Republic of Mexico, achieved the destruction of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna's Mexican army, and ultimately paved the way for the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended the two-year conflict between the sister republics of North America.
