Monty Reid is the author of thirteen other books including Disappointment Island, which was shortlisted for the Ottawa Book Award and won the 2007 Lampman-Scott Award. Born in Saskatchewan and a longtime resident of Alberta, Reid now lives in Ottawa and works at the Canadian Museum of Nature.
