This study examined the relationship between teacher salaries and student achievement in public schools within the state of Missouri. Data in the areas of teacher salaries and student achievement on the Missouri Assessment Program was collected and analyzed by the researchers, using the Pearson r correlational study model. The data suggested a slight correlation between teacher salaries and achievement on the MAP scores in grades 9-11 in both math and communication arts.
