Alcohol Consumption and Alcoholism in Hungary
註釋This volume grew out of a German-Hungarian collaborative research programme on alcohol and alcoholism carried out during the years 1990-93. One of the major objectives of this joint study was to explore the epidemiological and biomedical aspects of alcohol drinking and abuse in Hungary. There are indeed very few systematic surveys available in Hungary concerning these issues. The book covers a number of multidisciplinary topics such as epidemiology, biochemistry, pathophysiology, psychiatry, genetics, teratology, as well as environmental, socio-cultural and ethnic aspects of alcohol use and abuse in Hungary. The authors themselves have, in the past, contributed significantly to alcohol and alcoholism research as well as to population genetic aspects of the Hungarian population. This volume will prove particularly useful to basic scientists and physicians in the area of alcoholism research such as clinicians, geneticists, pharmacologists, toxicologists, psychiatrists, biochemists, environmental and public health scientists, and health policy makers.
