Mentions tensions between Christians and Jews during the Prussian period in 1816-47, e.g. in 1847 leaders of the Jewish community sent a complaint to the mayor concerning the obstruction of an alley leading to the synagogue. Pp. 209-236 discuss the Holocaust, during which the members of nine Jewish families from Olfen were murdered. Pp. 228-237 focus on the fate of members of the Simons family, who lived in Münster from 1930. They had to move to a "Jewish house" after the "Kristallnacht" pogrom and were dispossessed of their property. They were deported in 1943 to Theresienstadt and in 1944 to Auschwitz, where most of them perished; Ernst Simons died in 1945 in Dachau after a death march.
