Commonplace Book of Beatrice Williamson
註釋This commonplace book is comprised of poems, passages, and numerous illustrations drawn and painted by various hands including some beautiful luminescent butterflies by Ada C Dixon-Luchon, a fine medieval looking passage by ‘F.A.H’ (apparently ‘aged 6 years!’, a scene of three peasants from Naples by Emily H. Stephens, and a lovely Munich cityscape by Henry Hughes. Beatrice was particularly gifted at drawing flowers and vines. The first passages in the volume are "The First Swallow" by Charlotte Smith and "Those Evening Bellsby" by Thomas Moore; there are also excerpts from Tennyson, Eliza Cook, Maria La Coste, Ellen M.H. Gates, Adelaide Procter, Shakespeare and many others. This late-victorian commonplace book was used between 1879 and 1893. [From dealer description]
