Snakes Alive!
註釋This is a history of the snake charmers, snake pit entertainers and snake handlers who drew in crowds at fairs, circuses and carnivals, of the scientists' search for antivenom, the treatment of snake bites in Australia, and of andidote sellers peddling cures. The author, John Cann, is a snake pit performer himself. He is the son of George Cann, a reptile showman who later became curator of Reptiles at Taronga Park Zoo.
