John Weiss
註釋The collection contains Weiss' correspondence, 1839-1894. Several letters were addressed to his wife, Sarah Fiske Jennison Weiss, following his death. The majority of his correspondents were friends, colleagues, and notable publishers and literary figures. There are also letters written by his mother Mary Galloupe Weiss while Weiss was a student in Germany. They include his descriptions of the sights in Europe, family matters, and local news in Worcester, especially news of the Unitarian society there. Letters from various friends, some of whom were studying in Paris, France, contain references to his life in Heidelberg, the sights of Paris, and the increasing popularity of abolitionism in America.
