Nowlan (1888-1940) was an American science fiction author, best known as the creator of Buck Rogers. This science fiction novella first appeared in the August 1928 issue of the pulp magazine Amazing Stories and a sequel called The Airlords of Han was published in the March 1929 issue of the same magazine. The character of Anthony Rogers eventually evolved into Buck Rogers, the comic strip hero.
