General description of the collection: The Orville L. Dean papers consist of a completed Korean War Veterans Survey Questionnaire survey. Dean states that the leaders, weapons, equipment, supply and medical services were all okay. There were no problems with drugs, drinking or morale and the Korean Augmentation to the United States Army (KATUSA) troops were good. His first experience under fire was being knocked down by the concussion from a mortar round. The fire support received from other units was adequate and his unit worked well as a team. He recalls operating and stringing wire for the Headquarters (HQ) switchboard.
