註釋This publication came about in response to two exhibitions of the same name that took place in Reykjavik in 1999 and Glasgow in 2000. The two curators of the exhibition, Ross Sinclair and Bryndis Snaebjomsdottir, asked a group of Glasgow-based artists to respond to the statement, 'If I ruled the world...'. The artists involved produced new work in response to the spaces in Iceland and Scotland, looking at the idea of Utopia. The publication is not simply a catalogue of the two exhibitions but is itself a mediation of the notion of Utopia. It not only includes images from both exhibitions, but also images that the artists generated whilst researching work in both Iceland and Scotland.
