Philosophy of Religion in Nineteenth-century England and Beyond
註釋This book takes a fresh look at the history of Christianity, arguing that between the early 19th century Oxford and late 20th century Rome, a major change occurred in the philosophy of religion, which may be named the Critical Implosion. This did not necessarily change what was believed, but it altered the how and why of belief and the intellectual parameters of religion. A synoptic investigation of the underlying philosophies of twelve religious thinkers from Newman to Ratzinger is offered, as well as the combination of intellectual history with theology in a global perspective.
