Increasing Water Yield in the Northeast by Menagement of Forested Watersheds
註釋The purpose of this research paper is to present some of the methods by which water yields can be increased from forested watersheds and to discuss the effectiveness of these methods under different conditions. Methods discussed include clearcutting, partial cutting, and use of herbicides. Effectiveness during drought is considered. Effects on water yield of reforestation, forest protection, and forest fire and other destructive agencies are discussed. And finally, safeguards for water quality are considered.
