This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides a process for the verification and validation of monitors used in highly-integrated and complex aircraft flight control and related systems. There is a need for a document that provides a process for the development and approval of monitoring algorithms for highly integrated and complex aircraft flight control and related systems. This document satisfies this need. ARP6539 has been reaffirmed to comply with the SAE Five-Year Review policy.
