註釋For installations that have access to a large centralized computer, it is frequently advantageous to assemble the machine code for a minicomputer on the large computer rather than purchasing additional core for each minicomputer for the assembly routine. One way to prepare the input data is to punch the mnemonic code and the comments on data cards and feed them directly to the big computer. Tis provides an easily adjustable input with practically no storage costs. The computer then provides a printed output that can be checked for errors. Most installations have provisions to put the output on data lines. At the receiving end, these data can then be fed to the minicomputer memory. This paper describes a program written in FORTRAN 5.4 I that is prepared for the NOAA CDC 3800 computer facility in Boulder, Colorado, and that provides a printed output of location and machine code for the Interdata Model 70 microcomputer and the original data contained on the input card including comments.
