Local Development in the Global Economy
註釋This book is a theoretically informed empirical analysis of developments in three areas of the Punjab, especially during the period of rapid growth from the mid-60s onwards. The development process is linked with the market and policy processes at national and international levels. The study indicates that local and national development in the Third World has depended very largely on the global economy but that this process has delimited in the long run. The crucial role of, and the need for, indigenous capital goods and technology generating industry is emphasized, if there is to be a sustainable and integrated economic and social development in the developing countries.
