Dawson-Deaton Pioneers to Texas
註釋Samuel Dawson (1784-1874) moved from South Carolina to Tennessee and married Polly Ann Rogers. Her father was a Scotsman who had fought with the British during the Revolutionary War, and married three women of the Cherokee tribe; Polly Ann's mother was his second wife. Samuel and Polly Ann moved to Missouri while he was in the U.S. Army during the War of 1812, and then returned to Hardin (later McNairy) County, Tennessee. In 1834 they moved to Carroll County, Arkansas, and by 1850 they were in Williamson County, Texas. After his wife died, Samuel lived with a son in Bell County, Texas. Descendants and relatives lived in Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico and elsewhere.
