Life on the Farm and in the Village
註釋A collection of writings from members of the Parsons family that describe life on a family farm in South Paris, Maine during the first quarter of the 20th century. The first section comprises an essay about Merle S. Parsons' childhood experiences on the farm, written intermittently from 1950-1981. The second section consists of three essays by Mary Clifford Colley (cousin to Merle S. Parsons) about early 20th century housekeeping at her family's home in South Paris, written in the late 1970s. The third section comprises diaries Merle S. Parsons kept during 1918, 1919, 1922, and 1923 that provide day-to-day comments on farm life during that time. The fourth section is John T. Parsons' diary, which gives a sense of the seasonal round of farm work over a full annual cycle.
