註釋One of the most influential economic, social, and political theorists in Britain this century, J. A. Hobson (1858-1940) was an original thinker who refused to treat economics in isolation from related subjects, and it was this ability to synthesize that made his work so valuable.

This collection focuses on his writings in economics--his best-remembered contribution to the theory of underconsumption was heralded by Keynes as a pioneering work and has also had a considerable impact on many subsequent economists. Two of the volumes are devoted to articles and all six have introductions written by leading scholars in the field.
