註釋
Large folio (43 cm), 12 cm thick, volume of 61ff filled with original autographed letters and (approx. 150) photographic cartes de viste, memorializing Dudley R. Baxter. The album is divided into six sections - Political, Statistical, Local Taxation, Political Economy, Family and Private friends - each categorized within by his or her relationship with Baxter. Three years after his death, Baxter's widow privately issued In Memoriam which she distributed to friends and colleagues. Many people responded directly to Mrs. Baxter, sharing their own memories and opinions of Mr. Baxter. Mrs. Baxter then wrote back to each person, asking if they would send her a signed carte de viste, which many did. In addition to Benjamin Disraeli, and W.E. Gladstone, political contributors include Edward Stanley Earl of Derby, Robert Gascoyne-Cecil marquess of Salisbury, Gathorne Gathrone-Hardy earl of Cranbrook, Stafford Northcote, John Manners duke of Rutland, W.H. Smith, Lord George Hamilton, Michael Hicks Beach, John Pakington, Spencer Walpole, Granville Leveson-Gower, Hugh Grosvenor duke of Westminster, Anthony Ashley-Copper early of Shaftesbury, James Heywood, Sir John Lubbock, G.J. Shaw-Levre, Leonard Courtney, and Baron Henry de Worms. The statisticians represented include William Guy, William Farr, and Leone Levi. The range of others represented here including the surveyor Sir Henry Hunt, the social reformer Sir Edwin Chadwick; George Rolleston, physician and physiologist; economist Bonamy Price; political economist James Edwin Thorold Rogers; builder Sit John Felk; and historian James Anthony Froude.
