註釋The Inner Puka is the first book in the Turtle Town Series, set in Southern California, about Snap Shell, a box-shell turtle from Texas, who must find his place amongst of society of surfing sea turtles. Snap Shell has waited his whole life to follow his surfing dreams. After a sudden move to California with his father, Snap has the chance to embrace the sought after waves of the West Coast, while facing the challenges of a new culture full of turtle trends and stereotypes. Despite his technical differences from the surfing sea turtles, Snap finds a way to ride with the best of them, even if he has to wear blue flippers on his feet to swim. No longer a wanna-be, Snap gains the confidence to sign up for the annual Surf Barrel Competition. Little does Snap know, he will discover a secret along the way that has the power to either destroy him or truly help him embrace the inner puka of his soul.
