註釋
"This book is based on interview with people who have worked at Moruroa, or who live on islands near the site. It describes the effects of the nuclear test programme on their lives, and the lives of their families and friends. The interviews took place in 1987, when Dr Andy Biedermann, a Swiss doctor and crew member of the Greenpeace campaign ship Rainbow Warrior in 1985, made two trips to Polynesia, visiting Tahiti and some of the outer islands. At the end of his stay, Dr Biedermann was expelled from the territory for alleged "interference" in French defence affairs. Most of the people interviewed are Polynesian ... This is the first time many of them have spoken out about their experiences. Many fear the possibility of official repercussions, and so their names have been changed to protect them. They describe the environmental and health problems they have witnessed since the test programme began, and the effects it has wrought on their society ..." -- Introduction.
