General issues considered in the review include the adequacy of baseline information, Aboriginal rights and land claims, the value of traditional knowledge in environmental assessment, and corporate accountability. Specific issues discussed include those related to project engineering and management, such as tailings management; environmental issues relating to such matters as water quality and wildlife; and socio-economic issues, including economic impact of the project, participation of northerners, and social/cultural disruption.
