Down the hall, across the street, around the corner an around the world, the education, experience and care of Cape Breton's nurses are testimony to that capacity-in hospitals, clinics, neighbourhoods and on foreign soil.

The need to capture their experiences has resulted in these reflections spanning 100 years-from the opening of the first nursing school on the Island in 1905. By car, on foot, on horseback, by boat, snowmobile, small aircraft and helicopter, Cape Breton's nurses have distinguished themselves as caregivers, observers, listeners and advocates.
