Felix Summerly's hand book for the National gallery
註釋Scope and content: The Advertisement and Preface refer to earlier editions of this catalogue, published in 1841. The Advertisement, over the name of Henry Cole, accuses Joseph Hume, M.P., of plagiarism. The name, 'Felix Summerly', is a pseudonym of Henry Cole, which he used from about 1841, mainly for his books for children. The frontispiece shows the painting of the Raising of Lazarus, by Sebastian Del Piombo. In-text illustrations show other pictures in the collection.
