註釋Regional cooperation is crucial in times of economic downturn. In 2011, 14 out of 15 of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) states are facing dramatic cuts in their budgets and the trend is expected to continue. Despite hard times, students and their families in the West continue to benefit from hundreds of millions of dollars in tuition savings across a range of institutions and programs. This report presents testimonials from current WICHE student exchange students and graduates. The testimonials describe how WICHE's programs have provided affordable access to higher education, allowing them to pursue their dreams and contribute to their home state's workforce. This report covers Fall 2010 enrollments for Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE), Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) and Professional Student Exchange Program (PSEP) and details the funds that flow between students' home states and enrolling institutions in the Professional Student Exchange Program that receive them. (Contains 10 tables.) [For "Student Exchange Programs: Statistical Report. Academic Year, 2009-10," see ED508989.].
