註釋The journal of Elizabeth Holman is printed, recording major events of her life in the mid nineteenth century in Kororareka, Mimiwhangata, early Whangarei and Auckland. There are three oral histories of Russell, and two from Kerikeri. Other accounts include a story about Paihia after the missionaries left, and one from the Ludbrook family of Ohaeawai. There are numerous photographs and a map shows all the places in Northland referred to in the stories. There is a bibliography and a comprehensive index.
