Master Mason Hawes of Occold, Suffolk and John Hore Master Carpenter of Diss
註釋This concise history is a tribute to the work of Hawes of Occold (working from c.1410 to 1440) and John Hore carpenter of Diss in 1434, two master stone masons from Suffolk. In this study Birkin Haward looks at some of the principal traits of these masons including discussions of arcade piers, window traceries and roofs, before focusing on particular examples of churches where their particular style of work is evident: Bardwell, Bildeston, Debenham, Hengrave, Higham, Otley, Palgrave, Wickham Skeith and Wingfield. Includes many photographs and drawings.
