The Imaginary Man has no physical likeness, but Lucia's description - culled from her imagination and the composite she forms from the many men she has met over the course of thirty years - helps create a man who is not only younger, taller, and more financially successful than Mr. Wonderful, he is perfect in every way. The Lucia Papers tell the adventurous tale of a woman of a certain age, the man she loved, and the imaginary man she created to keep him on his toes.
