Studies in Eusebian and Post-Eusebian Chronography
註釋The two texts presented here are reconstructions of 4th-century chronicles which exist only in ancient translations or in surviving histories. The first text, Chronici canones of Eusebius of Caesarea, is one of the most influential texts of the period but it only survives in two translations and in numerous fragments recorded in other histories. The final part has to be almost completely reconstructed. The second chronicle, The Continuatio Antiochiensis Eusebii , is a history of Antioch between AD 325 and 350 which has to be reconstructed from obscure sources. The reconstructions are presented in Greek with English translations and are accompanied by lengthy commentaries which analyse the value of the reconstruction process.
