 Rehaak’s research has uncovered a demonic plot to enslave his people, the Abrhaani. His knowledge earns him death threats from a shadowy group of fanatics. It also gets him exiled to the wilderness. Rehaak needs evidence from an ancient document. With it, he can restore his honor and convince people of the demonic threat. Without it, the Nethera will turn Aarda into a living hell.

While living in exile, Rehaak meets Isil, an old Abrhaani woman. She has proof of the manuscript’s existence, but not its location. After he survives an attack at his new home, he renounces his quest, to escape the fanatic’s wrath. He still has a problem. He can’t escape his conscience.

Troubled by his dreams, he awakens to find a young Eniila near death outside his hut. Laakea, a teenaged Enilla warrior, is fleeing his abusive father. The boy needs a place to hide, and Rehaak needs help.

The young fighter could protect Rehaak from the assassins, but endless wars between their peoples have caused generations of hatred. With Isil’s help, he must overcome racial prejudice and mistrust before the trio of outcasts can join forces to defeat a world-wide centuries-old conspiracy. Their goal thrusts them into conflict with corrupt leaders and deadly enemies.
