Hank Fletcher is an ace. He has a deadly
arsenal of three pitches. The first: a one-hundred miles per hour (mph)
plus, fastball. The second: an eighty-five mph slider that falls off
the table as it crosses the plate. And the third: a sixty-five mph
knuckleball that floats down to home plate like a butterfly. He's the
only pitcher in the history of Major League Baseball to ever throw a
one hundred mph fastball and a knuckleball.
In the last game of a
season the Red Sox would hope to soon forget, they face-off against
the New York Yankees, with a chance to send them home, too. Hank
Fletcher is called-up from the minors to pitch, and he's well on his
way to completing a no-hitter, when he's suddenly confronted by the
ghost of his abusive father.
Can Hank overcome his past and finish the no-hitter?
