This text addresses curriculum and pedagogy standards that are initiatives of the American Mathematical Association of two-year Colleges (AMATYC), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and the Mathematics Association of America (MAA). It uses simplified language that appeals to a variety of student learning styles, promotes active and independent learning, and strengthens critical thinking and writing skills.
