註釋An elementary introduction to the work of Vaughan Jones and Victor Vassiliev on knot and link invariants and its recent modifications and generalizations, including a mathematical treatment of Jones-Witten invariants. Unlike other recent treatments of the subject, the minimal mathematics used make it suitable for a course or self-study by graduate students or even undergraduates in mathematics if they have a solid foundation in topology. Some of the more advanced chapters discuss homeomorphisms of surfaces and branched coverings. An appendix reviews basic topology. Member prices are $59 for individuals and $79 for institutions.
