Admiral Arthur FORREST (c1716-1770)
註釋Memories of heroic persons in the history of a nation tend to disappear if biographies are not written. The biographies of many famous individuals in the 18th century have only been undertaken cursorily due to the difficulty of locating scarce documents. The computer and Internet search engines have made it possible to discover sources of previously unknown documents and as well, to record them together with all images located. Here we report the results of a documentary search of the career of Admiral Arthur Forrest (c1716-1770), one of the heroes of Great Britain who elevated the Royal Navy to mastery of the world's oceans. The research has produced data sufficient to document his biography, genealogy and associated family lines of descent. This documentation of the lives of numerous persons, associated with such an important figure in British history, will ensure that they are easily recalled even though living memory recedes.
