Victim and Third-party Deviant Behavior as a Reaction to Mistreatment in the Workplace
註釋The study intends to examine the mediating role of organizational injustice between abusive supervision and deviant workplace behaviors of victim and third-party (peer). The researchers focused on the experiences of employees who are abused due to mistreatment they receive from their supervisor and the reaction of third-parties towards the mistreatment. Results of the cross-sectional study utilized 154 triads consisting of the victim, peer and supervisor surveys collected. Results showed that abusive supervision leads to workplace deviant behaviors and organizational injustices (distributive, procedural and interactional). Moreover, victim and peer's perception of interactional and procedural injustice would partially mediate therelationship between abusive supervision and workplace deviant behaviors. The study likewise showed that distributive injustice would not mediate the relationship between abusive supervision and deviant workplace behavior, since there is a low probability that distributive injustice leads to organization-related behavior.
