In 1752, during the time of the Great Awakening, this ordination sermon was preached by John Shaw, based on Jeremiah 3:15, "I will give you pastors after Mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." He demonstrates what must be true of the Christian pastor as he shepherds the flock of God which has been entrusted to him.
